NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six in the football calendar , following last week's talk regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.
Striking during those contests were the number of penalties each committed. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this weekend.
However it was good to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory by four points.
Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver prevailed in that contest.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending extra defenders but they might plug two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, it was noted on a program how Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well then excelled of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled big while recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
I love how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver represent a team that wants to run first, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.
This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to make throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you consistently rush it consumes time and forces the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and if you have a mobile QB the defense has to defend the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.
Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to have a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.
The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the success Denver are having offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to hold their division. The key is to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win a game.
Since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.
This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
