Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
