Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
