Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a party host famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
